The Mermaid Parade

Dive into summer with the 43rd Annual Mermaid Parade, splashing onto Coney Island’s streets on Saturday, 21 June 2025. Since 1983, this vibrant, artistic celebration has brought together New Yorkers and visitors for a one-of-a-kind parade inspired by Coney Island’s historic Mardi Gras. The Mermaid Parade is the largest art parade in the U.S., featuring a joyous mix of mermaids, mermen, sea creatures, floats, bands, dancers, and more.

Organised by Coney Island USA, the event marks the official start of summer and celebrates the quirky, creative spirit of NYC’s diverse communities. Highlights include the crowning of King Neptune and Queen Mermaid, costumed marchers from across the boroughs, and live entertainment throughout the day. Participants and spectators alike can enjoy an unforgettable seaside celebration that blends performance, art, and old-school boardwalk fun.

Registration is open for marchers, and those wishing to join the judging panel can enjoy the best views and help crown this year’s parade stars
